About this project

Adora Digital Health have teamed up with Medway South and Medway Valley Primary Care Networks (PCNs) to pilot and evaluate the Adora menopause service in GP practices in 2025. This project is funded by an Innovate UK Biomedical Catalyst Award

What does the project involve?

Researchers at Adora Digital Health are looking to engage with primary care staff from the PCNs to understand current menopause demand in the population and to pilot the Adora service.

This is because we wish to know if Adora can:

  • Make positive changes to women's knowledge, skills and confidence to self manage the menopause

  • Potentially reduce demand for NHS service (e.g. GP appointments, tests)

  • Improve patient and staff satisfaction

  • Be a trusted digital resource for NHS health professionals and staff

How can I get involved?

We are looking for 5 staff from the GP practices below*, plus representatives from local organisations (e.g. Kent Council, Kent and Medway ICB), to do the following:

  1. Complete a survey about patient menopause demand and services

  2. Volunteer to test the Adora menopause companion app

  3. Provide feedback on Adora via a short video call, focus group, or using an online form.

All data collected will be treated as strictly confidential and anonymised.

*Practices involved are: Reach Healthcare, Matrix Medical Practice, King George Road Surgery, The Churchill Clinic.

To take part:

Please complete the form below with your details so that Adora’s researchers can get in touch with you. They will ask you to review a study information sheet and consent to take part. You can withdraw at any time if you change your mind.

Why does this matter?

Recent research suggests that many women struggle to access expert advice, empathetic guidance and trustworthy information about the perimenopause and menopause.

  1. Between 50% and 75% of women experience symptomatic menopause, with variations in presentation, timing and severity

  2. NHS data indicates that whilst more women are using HRT in England, there are inequalities in terms of access

  3. Surveys suggest that health care professionals are seeing more women about their hormonal health, but many report not having received adequate training

  4. For these reasons, we need research and innovation to help improve patient and staff satisfaction with menopause care and services in the NHS.

What does Adora provide?

Adora is a menopause companion app and service which has been co-designed with women and clinicians.

Adora is NHS DTAC compliant and registered with the MHRA as a Class I Medical Device. It is only intended for use in patients aged 35 and over in the UK, and it is not able to diagnose patients. If there are clinical red flags picked up through its online assessments, women are encouraged to speak to a health professional.

An inclusive community.

Throughout Adora the terms “women”, “female”, “her”, will most frequently be used. However Adora is inclusive of, and recognises, that people from different communities can also experience menopausal symptoms.
