Adora’s Menopause Support Pilot with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and NHS Ayrshire and Arran

Since 2024, Adora Digital Health has been working with stakeholders in Scotland, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, and NHS Ayrshire and Arran on a project funded through the Scottish Government's CivTech 9.2 Challenge.

The aim of this partnership was to explore how digital tools can help women better understand menopause and more easily access support that fits their individual needs.

About the Scottish health board pilots

Staff and patients across both health boards were given access to the Adora menopause companion app — a clinically backed Class I medical device — along with live expert-led webinar events and evidence-based resources. Delivered over 12 weeks, the pilot included an evaluation and research component designed to understand patterns of symptom experience, including areas such as fatigue, sleep, and cognitive challenges, particularly among women who may be in earlier stages of menopause. We also examined the financial impacts of menopause — both for the NHS in West Scotland and for women who seek help outside of the NHS.

All participation in the pilot was voluntary.

Why this matters

Many women face challenges accessing clear, trusted menopause information and navigating online content. By working closely with NHS partners, the Adora service explored how digital tools can sit alongside existing NHS services and workplace wellbeing initiatives, helping to identify opportunities for more joined-up, accessible support. The pilot exceeded recruitment targets and saw strong ongoing engagement, highlighting both the demand for this kind of support and the value of accessible, clinically informed interventions.

Looking ahead

Adora Digital Health has successfully completed the pilot, with insights now informing ongoing work with partners across Scotland to explore next steps for scaling menopause support across healthcare and workplace settings. The programme is also generating findings to support future digital innovation in menopause and workplace wellbeing, with updates and learnings being shared with the participating health boards and project stakeholders.
